The Happy Manifesto
The Happy Manifesto is a book that will help make your company a happy workplace for your employees and yourself. It is packed with stories and practical examples, where Henry sets out the simple principles that can help you transform your business into a truly great place to work.
It is easy to understand that a workplace where everyone is happy, motivated and valued will simply be more productive and profitable. Often the problem is understanding how the methods used to achieve such an environment can be transferred successfully to your own company.
However, another problem may be that you just don't realise how close your company is to creating a happy environment. A good example of this is in the book/film 'High Fidelity' where the lead character writes a list of his 'Top 5 Dream Jobs' to realise his current job is in the top 5.
If you keep improving your workplace with small, noticeable changes, your business will change dramatically over a short space of time. Your employees will become advocates and fans of the brand, while your customers will notice the difference as well.
Henry Stewart offers many great ideas about how a company can improve itself to benefit the employees. It would be very easy to read this book through once and implement some of the ideas. Then read it again a couple of months later and make more improvements.
Word will spread very quickly about great employers. Before you know it, there will be 5 times as many applications for each job and customers will be knocking at the doors and ringing the phones to be able to buy from you!
