If you are serious about the disruption business then I would consider drinking copious amounts of alcohol to come up with that wacky idea…(joke) or you can be a little more considered and disciplined and use some kind of workshop scenario to generate some new options.

Using a structured seminar framework and a decent facilitator you can probably go some way to create a new, disruptive solution…

The starting point is to remember:
  • You are probably too much in love with your business and your products
  • Quality is a relative term
  • You can in fact be too good
  • Non-consumers can be great customers
  • When you don’t know, you are likely to be wrong

  • Simplify a number of advantages to create a new cost base..
  • Give away the other product!
  • Look for new, radically cheaper ways to do the job
  • Think about exploiting a small number of individuals with extraordinary talent
